Acknowledgement of Grant from United Way of Greater Toronto
Naseeha Mental Health is deeply grateful to the United Way of Greater Toronto for awarding a generous grant of $74,800. This funding will significantly enhance our ability to address the mental health challenges faced by the Muslim and Arab communities through our program initiative, Clear Minds: Resilience and Healing.
About the Grant
The United Way of Greater Toronto’s mission is to meet urgent human needs and improve social conditions by mobilizing the community’s volunteer and financial resources in a common cause of caring. This funding supports Naseeha Youth Helpline in delivering effective human service programs that align with United Way's mission and our shared goal of fostering resilience and healing within the community.
Impact on Naseeha Mental Health
With this grant, Naseeha Mental Health will be able to:
Clear Minds: Resilience and Healing: This program initiative will address the mental health challenges faced by the Muslim and Arab communities between the ages of 10 and 65 living in Canada, with a focus on the Greater Toronto Area.
Comprehensive Support: The helpline will assist individuals seeking support for a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, parent-youth relationships, intimate partner relationships, loneliness, academic and employment issues, and crisis calls (including self-harm and suicidal ideation).
Multilingual Services: Provide support in multiple languages including Urdu, Punjabi, Arabic, Farsi, and Pashto.
Community Reach: Serve 4,800 individuals from the Muslim and Arab community residing in Toronto, York, and Peel Regions between January 31, 2024, and July 30, 2024.
