Introducing our 2019 Video Contest!

Do you have a story related to mental health you’d like to share? We’re inviting aspiring filmmakers to submit a short video for a chance to win one of three top prizes and have your video featured in our future projects and events!

Winners will receive the following prizes:

Theme

Your video may showcase the impact of mental health on individuals or show how we can increase awareness and take the stigma out of discussing mental illness. Choose one of the following themes for your video:

  • Abuse
  • Addiction
  • Bullying and/or cyberbullying
  • Breaking the stigma
  • Depression

Your video must also prominently feature one of the two following calls to action:

  • Learn more about Naseeha and get involved
  • Donate and support Naseeha

Eligibility

To be eligible:

  • You must be at least 12 years of age to enter. If under 18, you must get parental or guardian consent to enter the contest.
  • Your video must be between 30 seconds to 1 minute, or 1 to 2 minutes in length (videos that are shorter than 30 seconds or longer than 2 minutes will be disqualified).
  • Video submitted must be in 1080P or 4K resolution.
  • Video must meet theme criteria and incorporate the Naseeha logo and hashtag “#hereforyou”. Both are available for download in EPS format.

This contest can have either individual or team entries.

You cannot enter the contest if you or your immediate family members work for Naseeha Mental Health.

Video Requirements

Video submissions must meet the following requirements to be considered:

  • Video must be between 30 seconds to 1 minute, or 1 to 2 minutes in length (videos that are shorter than 30 seconds or longer than 2 minutes will be disqualified).
  • Video submitted must be in 1080P or 4K resolution.
  • Video must meet theme criterias and incorporate the Naseeha logo and hashtag “#hereforyou”. Both are available for download in EPS format.
  • Videos must be uploaded and submitted via YouTube and Google Drive.

Deadline

The contest closes on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at 11:59 pm, Eastern Daylight Saving Time. Videos must be posted and all contest forms received before the contest close date.

How to Enter

All videos must be submitted via YouTube and Google Drive. You must have a YouTube and Google account – both are easy to create and free. Please ensure the correct URLs (no typos) are submitted with your entry form.

When uploading your video to YouTube, please make sure it is embeddable as the videos may be posted on Naseeha’s website. (To do this, the embedding option can be selected under “Sharing Options” on the YouTube¨ video upload page.) As well, under Privacy Settings, please select “Unlisted” so that your video isn’t made public. Only those with the link will be able to view the video.

When uploading your video to Google Drive, please make sure Link Sharing is on. To do this, go to the file’s sharing options and select “On – Anyone with the link”. Only those with the link will be able to view the video. All videos must remain available for viewing and download from Google Drive for the duration of the contest period.

Include the links on the entry form and submit all forms, transcripts and other documentation by April 30, 2019.

Prizes

1st place: $2,000 cash prize

2nd place: DGI Mavic 4K drone ($1,000 value)

3rd place: iPad ($500 value)

Selection Process

Videos will be judged on:

  • 20% Creativity
  • 20% Impact and persuasiveness
  • 30% Overall presentation of mental health information
  • 30% Technical quality

The judges’ decisions are final.
