Bullying, unfortunately, is becoming more and more common in schools and even at the workforce. With the internet becoming more popular and in almost every household, cyber-bullying is evident more than ever. Our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) instructed that we help a brother whether he is an oppressor or the one being oppressed. The sad part is, that at most times when there is someone being bullied, there are plenty of witnesses to it, but only a fraction gets reported.
THE ISLAMIC PERSPECTIVE
It is very obvious that everyone needs to live in peace and with respect. A fundamental belief in Islam, is that you love for a brother what you love for yourself. Simple words, but at times, a heavy statement to live by. There are several instances that the one being bullied are the weaker ones, but one needs to remember, that on the Day of Judgement, everyone will be able to meet with their oppressor and retaliate for any unjust actions that were done against them.
